About Us

The Brattleboro Housing Authority

We provide housing for 284 families and individuals on the properties we own and manage. We provide housing for another 200 families and individuals through the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8), Pathways, and Shelter Plus Care programs.

The Brattleboro Housing Authority is the community-wide sponsor for the Summer Food Program, which provides lunch and snacks to hundreds of children in Brattleboro during the summer. We have an AmeriCorps member who provides after school enrichment programs to children and teens who live in our housing and we have a congregate meals program for our residents at Melrose Terrace.

Participation in our housing programs is restricted based on income. The income limits vary by family size, as shown in the following table. The amount listed is the maximum amount of income (from all sources) you may have. Rules for determining eligibility are very specialized, so we encourage anyone interested to apply, even though you may think you are over income.
